PROJECTS

Prosafe Production converts existing Aframax, Suezmax and VLCC tankers to FPSOs and FSOs.
Prosafe Production employs about 100 highly skilled engineers, and the engineering and operations departments can manage complete concepts from tanker purchase through design, life extension, construction, commissioning, installation on the field, operation and redeployment.

The company has a solid track record of on time and within budget delivery, and has conducted 15 conversion projects and major upgrades on time and within budget. The first FSO conversion was carried out in 1985, with the first FPSO converted in 1994.

Prosafe Production has conducted several fast-track conversion projects. For instance, the Abo FPSO produced first oil only 15 months after contract award.

Prosafe Production uses its in-house resources for the design and operation of these units. The Projects organisation liaises with the Operations department from the bid stage, thereby ensuring that the vessels are designed for operability and that continuous design improvement is safeguarded.
