Fire delays completion of FPSO Ningaloo Vision
The Ningaloo Vision, a Floating Production, Offloading and Storage (FPSO) vessel currently being converted at Keppel Shipyard in Singapore, sustained damage to equipment following an electrical fire in the Instrument and Technical Room on Saturday, 11 April 2009. There was no injury/harm to personnel. |

Currently, priority is given to ensuring that the vessel is safe and secure before work is allowed to re-commence and all necessary safety measures will be taken in this regard. In addition, necessary resources have been allocated to minimising the impact of this incident on various fronts. While it is too early to ascertain the full impact of the fire, preliminary assessment indicates that completion will be delayed by a few months, pending delivery times on critical equipment. Prosafe Production is insured against incidents like these and representatives from the insurance companies have inspected the damages. As such, the company does not expect to suffer any significant financial loss, except of delayed charter income.
